New Music VideosReks skewers the modern education system in the thought-provoking new video for “Miss Education,” a timely and sharp look into the ways in which educators can often hold back the brightest young minds. Like many of society’s ills, the issues with education are steeped in discrimination but also a strict adherence to rules that simply don’t make sense. And Reks brings this concept to life with his rhymes as well as this video, which features the directorial work of Logos Films and Impunity Films. Check out the visuals and support Reks’ latest album, T.H.I.N.G.S., which is availalble now via Brick Records through your preferred digital retailer or streaming platform. The 19 track LP boasts guest appearances and production by the likes of Pharoahe Monch, Lil Fame, Evidence, Marco Polo, Nottz, Statik Selektah, Apollo Brown and more, with limited vinyl copies available in a splatter configuration courtesy of, Get On Down. Corey Isiah Christie (born August 24, 1977), better known as REKS, is an American rapper. REKS emerged from Lawrence, Massachusetts' underground rap scene. His debut underground album Along Came The Chosen was released in 2001 released under Brick Records. Reks has released eight additional albums and has appeared on various albums and mixtapes. Reks was a breakdancer in his teens and was part of a local B-boy crew called Funk Town Connection. By the time he entered college at University of Massachusetts Amherst, Reks had built a reputation for himself in the local Boston rap scene, and eventually quit school to begin recording for Brick Records. A few 12" singles, "I Could Have Done More" and "Fearless," arrived first in early 2001, before Brick issued his debut LP, Along Came the Chosen, later that year. This earned Reks nominations for Hip-Hop Album and Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards. Reks worked with DJ Premier, Styles P, Alchemist, Hi-Tek, and many others on his 2011 album Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme.
