Frankie Zing, born Frankie Louis Zingaropoli, Jr., is an American recording artist from Staten Island, New York. Born in Brooklyn, Frankie and his family moved to Staten Island and then New Jersey in later years. Dedicated to the core fundamentals of hip-hop and lyricism, his passion for lyrics and storytelling stemmed from early influences such as Nas, Eminem, and DMX.
Frankie's first performance opportunity was offered after he released his single "Motivation" in high school which garnered him enough attention to be invited on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as an act. From there on, he began performing at several local venues in New Jersey such as The Brighton Bar, Gamechanger World, and even Seaside Beach. Frankie has always been proactive in his endeavors and has raised money for foundations such as S.A.D.D (Students Against Destructive Decisions).
In just one year, Frankie has gone from unknown artist, to writer for Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex, as well as songwriter for the Amber Rose starring comedy “What Happened Last Night?” soundtrack. The song “Who I Am” was a contender for the nomination of Best Original Song at the 89th Academy Awards. He has also garnered several acting roles including the murder re-enactment show Shadow of Doubt, MTV’s Ladylike, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
Since he discovered a passion for music at age 7 and began songwriting, it‘s been his mission to create a successful career in music and hasn‘t looked back. Frankie‘s passion for success doesn‘t fall short of his motivation, as his music is used as a personal platform of expression.
Following his Staten Island childhood, Frankie continued to write and record his own music upon moving to New Jersey and California. Hip-hop was “a piece of home” that stuck with him into adulthood. His lyrical ability and deliverance paints vivid pictures of his early inspirations.
